He stared into the pale yellow room; fixated on the tiny fist pumping in the air from the fourth bassinet in the front row. Smiling lightly, he flicked his gaze over his daughter’s tiny features from her small fingers to her petite nose to the light dusting of brown-black hair covering her head. God, she was perfect. His grin widened; he didn’t know it was possible for something to be this perfect; but here she was, all seven pounds nine ounces of perfection staring at him through the nursery glass with chocolate brown eyes so akin to her mother’s that he already knew she would be breaking hearts fifteen years from now. Not that he was going to be letting any of those “hearts” near her though. Nope, not at all; at least not while he still remembered what fifteen year old boys were like. A hand clapped his shoulder lightly, jolting him from his boyfriend deterrent plans as McGee sidled up to gaze into the hospital nursery along with him. “She’s beautiful, Tony,” the younger agent stated, “congratulations.”Turning his head, he gave Tim a wide smile, “Thanks, Probie. She really is.” McGee gave a small smile, his eyes scanning the room full of tiny flailing limbs and soft gurgles, “Who would have thought, huh? Tony DiNozzo with a child,” the agent teased lightly, causing Tony to release an impish laugh.“Well with genes like mine, it would be a shame not to pass them on, McUncle”Tim chuckled before turning to fix Tony with an emphatic gaze, “Seriously though, I’m really happy for you and Ziva. You both will make great parents.”“Thanks Tim…” Tony trailed off, running a nervous hand through his hair, “hopefully she’ll turn out okay.” “Course she will, you both love her; that’s the most important part.”Yeah, he did love the tiny infant Ziva had pushed into the world only five hours ago. He loved this beautiful, fragile new life so much that it terrified him; she wasn’t even a day old and already his daughter was entwined so deeply in his heart that the very thought of her being misled by his poor parenting or, god forbid, hurt in an accident of some sort was almost enough to paralyze him completely. He was beginning to understand all too clearly why loosing Kelly had almost destroyed Gibbs. “Agent DiNozzo?” the nurse’s voice snapped him from his panicked reverie, “Would you like to bring your daughter back to your wife’s room? We’re finished with the tests now, and I think she’s getting pretty hungry.” He cleared his throat, giving himself a small shake to mobilize his unnerved limbs. One step at a time. That’s what Ziva had said. They would take this one step at a time, and it would all be okay. They were not going to mess this up. “Yeah, I’ll take her,” he replied finally, finding his voice. Moving into the nursery, he picked the infant up and cradled her tiny body against his chest. Running a finger across her cheek, he marveled at the beautiful blend of himself and Ziva reflected in her miniature features. A small hand latched strongly onto his pinky as she gave a long yawn, and Tony felt his chest tighten at the action. Somehow, after everything he had done, all of his mistakes, all of his regrets, he had still ended up with all of this love in his life. First Ziva, and now their perfect, beautiful newborn daughter. Even for all his errors and shortcomings, the universe had still gifted him with them. And he would never forget how lucky he was to have them.

IM CRYINGGGG sooo beautiful
